Bradford African Community

About us

Our community have all arrived in the United Kingdom in the last 5 years. We come from a number of refugee camps across East Africa including the Congo Kinshasa, Burundi, Ethiopia, Zambia, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Uganda, Somalia and other countries outside eastern Africa Community.

Through our integration in the British main Communities, we experienced various challenges such as:

  • Language barriers
  • Isolation
  • Difficulties to navigating new system
  • Emotional health difficulties
  • Limited income

Our vision

We passionately believe in integrity, trustworthiness, accountability and hard work, and Based on our well structured processes, we aim to have full participation in the UK Society from our African refugees because we know that leaving your home country can be overwhelming but we will succeed when we properly integrate into the community of Bradford and live a normal life.

Our Mission

To develop the capacity and skills of the members of the African, Refugee and other disadvantaged communities seceding in Bradford and Yorkshire, in such away that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and participate more fully is society
